California budgets

December 15, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

California budget cuts, programs, and resources are preventing success in public schools. Coming from a California public school myself and where equipment or programs weren’t available to all students made it difficult to succeed in school. Base cuts mean massacre to all upcoming generation. Governor Schwarzenegger’s proposes further funding cuts this year followed by more cuts next year. An article on the web by Paula S. Cambell, president of California School Board stated, “That’s worse than a retreat; it is a massacre. A cut of $3 billion last September, schools have already reduced or eliminated important programs and services.”  The results of the cuts made are unfair and not justified, especially to the public schools. Materials, programs and services are very crucial for the success of the students and the following generations.

rapid change; technology

December 15, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

Everyone is amazed at how rapidly technology is changing. Can technology be good for kids?  Every time I arrive at my parents’ home to eat dinner, my little is brother watching or playing with technology. It was 3 years ago that I purchased his first video game. My little brother was so amazed with the technology, which opened his mind up to a new world. Right now, I question myself: did I do the correct thing by introducing technology to him at such a young age?Today’s technology has a negative influence on kids because it causes them to lose their sense of reality, moral judgment, and motivation to get out and explore their surroundings.

Is McDonalds New menu Good?

December 11, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

Is the new $1 dollar menu from Mc Donalds better for society? Even though there have been many health inspectors that have said  McDonald’s food is unhealthy, people still purchase it. What does this new variety of unhealthy food going to do to society? Mc Donalds  adverstisement  for cheap unhealthy food is going to create health issues for the American population. Does our society need more FAT people??  An American person is thought of as a fat person. Now with the crisis at its worst , people loving  junk food, and now with the $1 menu, it all makes it worst. What do you think?

GAY,OK?

December 5, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

An article recently posted by CNN.com talks about political views and democratic actions at its best. To approve or disapproved same sex marriage in NY was the senate’s jobs to decide. 38-24 against same sex marriage was the result from the senate. Governor David Paterson,  disappointed with the results, he made a  promise to people in NY that he will keep on fighting until it’s passed. 31 of 51 states in the U.S. have banned same sex marriage in statewide votes.

I believe that California should of made it #32 to ban same sex marriage. I’m against same sex marriage because I strongly believe that a union of 2 people should be done with the opposite sex. The bible says that a marriage should be with a man and women. I don’t want any of my kids to be persuaded in any way to become gay. If seen on the streets, magazines, TV, or at school, etc kids will start to think that’s the way to follow.

What is going to be the image for the United States when same sex marriage is legalized throughout the country?

Are other countries going to respect the United States?

Why is the word “Land of the Free” being manipulated to legalized same sex marriage?

Is this what we want for our future generations to deal with?

Soldiers attack Soldiers

November 13, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

Fort Hood suspect (Nidal Malik Hasan) killed 13 American soldiers and injured 29 according to the news articles posted on yahoo.com  Nidal Malik a major in the US army lost his mind due to PTSD from war. Even thought there were traces of Nidal Malik contacting a terrorist leader (Anwar al-Awlaki) thru the internet. His letters/messages didn’t contain any treat acts planning as a terrorist. According to the FBI, they monitored his letters but wasn’t never a looked closely because it didn’t contain any treats to the national security.

There are many different views of this great tragedy. I have notice that different opinions from new cast about this incident. Instead of reporting, they are adding their own opinion to persuade their audience to believe what they want you to. For example, Fox news is reporting this tragedy as a terrorist attack and that the US government has neglected to stop.  My prayers go out to the victims of this horrible act from this man. PTSD can make a man do some amazing things but also can become very dangerous. What is it been done to prevent another event like this?? There have been many sittuation were veterans have come home and because of PTSD they have committed some horrible acts. Is this war really worth it??

air pullution around the world

November 9, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

All of the  enviromental advocates worry about placing  restrictions on Americans to control, or minimized the amount of air pollution into the atmosphere. They are so worry about our own that they are  failing to observed the world. I understand that to change sometimes  must start from home; meaning US. The world cant be change if one’s self doesnt change, we all dont think alike or have similar backgrounds or beleives but we all share this world called earth.  What is it this goverment doing to minimized the  air pollution  in others countries, It seems that the US sticks its nose everywhere else.  Just today right after watching the Charger get another victory against the Giants, I turn the channel to watch a the news. Can you guess what i saw?? Well, it was about air pollution in China, beein its worst in years. Major roads in China had to be closed down because of air pollution, it was so bad that the images of Chinas streets looked like morning fog but it was in the middle of the day.  I turn on my computer and on my homepage being yahoo, in the news tab it had a news article about the top 5 worst car for pollution and gas millage in the US. This list was a shocking experience for me to find out the BMW, JEEP, DODGE,  are the manufactures creating vehicles that can and are polluting about 10 million gas ballons of air pollution every year for every vehicle.  My question after all of this, What is this government and its people really doing to preserve our necessary supply of air that every human needs to survive? and also, What is the world doing to minimized all the negative doings to our world the earth? Is gloval warming comming sooner then expected?

Mexican cartel’s growing organization..

November 2, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

Our economical crisis and unemployment at its highest, makes individuals act for survival be spontaneous. Mexican cartel providing  jobs for various people. People doing what an individual need to do for survival its slowly taking over a hole country. By having a plague of importation of drugs right next to the US will cause many future problems. The crime in our streets of today is increasing.

“One tactic employed by the government of Mexican President Felipe Calderon in his offensive against drug cartels has been to increase extraditions of those facing charges in the United States. Drug traffickers have been known to escape from Mexican prisons or to continue to operate inside them. Proponents of increased extraditions say U.S. prisons provide a more severe punishment.” stated in www.cnn.com/Mexico-extradites-record-numbers-to-US  Can this plague be control before it gets worse?

Many people in Mexico are being killed everyday because of the Mexican Cartels organization. Mexican Goverment officials are co-operating in the increase for the mexican cartels. This organization originated from South America. This plague needs to be control before it comes to our own backyards.

Ten Year-Old’s As Prostitutes?

October 27, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

What is this world coming to? I read an article on yahoo today reporting that in a sting to catch “pimps” using underage girls for profit, 52 young girls were rescued. The youngest girl was ten years old. Apparently, the pimps  ”would trick the girls into thinking that they were romantically interested in them.  After getting the girls to follow them into another city, the pimps would then send the girls out to work for them or leave them stranded.

I just can’t believe that a grown man would have the guts to do such things to girls that are so young. In the media, prostitution is portrayed as something that’s accepted in society and as a quick way to make money. Young girls that see this on television may begin to see prostitution as a way out of  their everyday lives or as a way to make money quick.

Rainbow Rights “Dont ask, Dont tell”

October 12, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Gay rights advocates gathered near the Washington Monument on Saturday to express opposition to the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy just hours before President Obama was expected to speak to the Human Rights Campaign on issues affecting the gay community.     www.cnn.com

Affecting the community?? I wish it would only affect a community, but It will affect all Americans all over the world. The American image will be ruined because of the media projecting of gay acceptance to viewers just like you and me. Can we all think of our ancestors; would they ever accept this? Is it right? Should we as heterosexuals speak out against this? Has Obama done enough? Wasnt there an election and the American people have spoken..  From a personal view point as a veteran, this makes me think about my future for my kids and for this country. Who is going to defend this country when I’m an old man? American people have taken the rights for granted. The rights of American people have been abused and taken out of contex to defend those that are pushing the limits of all that we, as a country, have fought for.

Foreign View of Los Angeles

September 28, 2009 by rodolfotiscareno

I was recently watching television when I saw a few commercials that sort of bothered me. The commercials were advertisements for the Orange County Fair. They portrayed what was supposed to be people from Los Angeles as being either dumb, fat, or a ditz. The commercials featured women from Los Angeles and played on  a stereotype of the “dumb-blonde, stuck-up ditz”  image of rich girls from LA. The girls compared bumper-cars to “finding parking on Rodeo Drive”. Another one of the commercials featured  “typical” food for those in LA: ANYTHING fried. This causes me to wonder: Is this really how people across the world classify those in Los Angeles or even in America? Are we all viewed as rich, spoiled, greedy and overweight people? Is this what our own media is promoting?
